Patients` safety is at the forefront of their treatment plan in my healthcare setting. The work ethic and culture are to always ensure the safety of patients at every point of care. The mental and behavioral health patient population in my work environment is prone to high risks of injuries to self and others. To this end, the Safewards Model and Interventions were initiated to create safer mental health services for patients and staff. This initiative is an evidence-based intervention developed for use in mental health settings to provide safe sanctuary.
