SOLUTION:
Nursing professionals must engage in self-assessment in nursing informatics because it helps to explore their strengths and weaknesses, recognize their competency level to use technology, and identify different opportunities for professional growth and development. In addition, self-assessment allows nurses to identify areas where they lack skills and knowledge, highlight areas of improvement, and encourage continuous learning. This is important for staying current with evolving technologies and practices, enabling us to effectively use tools that enhance patient care.
Two competencies that I identify as strengths are the use of communication and technology to gather data, create information, and generate knowledge and support documentation of care and communication among providers, patients, and all system levels. These strengths allow me to assess patients, identify problems, initiate care plans, implement both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, evaluate the effectiveness, and effectively communicate analyzed data with the healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care promptly. For instance, utilizing technology such as Electronic health records (EHR) enables me to access patient information in real-time. EHR streamlines documentation decreases errors, and enhances communication between team members. I rely on EHR to document my nursing assessment information promptly, gather information regarding patient medical history, and use secure chat to communicate with all team members, as well as to send educational materials to patients regarding their medical conditions. This emphasizes patient-centered care. As a bachelor-prepared nurse, I am committed to using my knowledge and skills to improve care and promote patient safety….. …………...KINDLY CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW TO ACCESS THE ENTIRE DOCUMENT FOR $12
